How NutriTrack collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use the Android app.

Who operates NutriTrack

NutriTrack is an Android nutrition and fitness application developed by MJR Labs and operated by Mujeeb Rahman. For privacy questions or account deletion assistance, contact rahman8686200@gmail.com.

Information you enter and store

NutriTrack may store your chosen display name and username, account email, profile photo reference, age, sex used for calculations, height, weight, nutrition targets, food and water logs, saved meals, favorites, meal plans, workout schedules, gym attendance, exercise details, and AI conversation history. Much of this information is stored locally on your device. Your chosen profile photo is not automatically submitted to AI.

If you sign in, Firebase Authentication manages your sign-in and Firestore stores cloud-account profile information. Your username is used as a unique profile label, not as a password. NutriTrack does not store your account password in app preferences or cloud backups.

Cloud backups and account synchronization

When cloud backup is enabled, NutriTrack can store copies of your tracking information, settings and conversation history in Google Firebase/Firestore. Scheduled backups occur approximately every seven days, with manual backup and restore controls also available. The app may retain staged or previous backup versions until cleanup. Signing out does not automatically delete device records or backups.

Some profile information and app data may be stored in local databases and protected Android app storage. Your device settings and Android backup/transfer features can affect whether local data is later restored.

Optional AI-powered food analysis

If you choose an AI feature and consent to AI processing, NutriTrack submits your selected food photo or food text over HTTPS through its Cloudflare gateway to the Google Gemini API. For contextual responses, an AI request may include the selected date, that day's logged foods and calorie/macro targets, and up to ten recent chat messages. Cloudflare may use your Firebase UID to check subscription eligibility and track daily AI-request limits in its D1 database.

You can decline or withdraw optional AI consent for future requests while continuing to use manual tracking. Information already sent to Google's services cannot be recalled simply by clearing your local chat. How Google processes and retains those submissions depends on the Gemini service terms and configuration. Avoid including identifying or confidential medical information in requests or photos.

Google Gemini API terms

Barcode searches, photos and exercise media

When you use barcode lookup, the barcode may be sent to Open Food Facts. An unknown product may be submitted to Gemini only with your AI consent. If you take or choose a food photo, the app accesses only the camera or images you authorize. Remote exercise images and videos are fetched from their hosting services, which may receive routine connection information such as IP address.

Open Food Facts privacy information

Why data is used and with whom it is shared

Information is used to provide account sign-in, nutrition and fitness tracking, optional AI estimates, cloud backups, and support. Relevant information is processed by service providers supporting those functions, including Google Firebase, Google Gemini, Cloudflare and Open Food Facts when you use its lookup. NutriTrack's current source includes no advertising or analytics integration and does not sell personal information.

If you email support, your message and email address will be processed by email service providers and the support mailbox. Optional contributions, if offered by the app, are handled by an external payment provider; NutriTrack does not collect UPI PINs or verify payment completion.

Retention and deletion

Local records generally remain on your device until you remove them or clear the app's storage. Uninstalling normally removes the app's local storage, although device backups or exported files may persist. Cloud account data and backups are separate from local records. Signed-in users can select Profile → Account options → Delete account to request deletion of their Firebase sign-in, Firestore profile/username record and cloud-backup documents after verification. The in-app deletion flow does not erase local phone records or separately exported backup files.

To request deletion without the app, see Delete your NutriTrack account. The support team may ask you to verify control of your account before fulfilling a request. Records held by third parties under their own retention policies, security records, support correspondence, and device backups may require separate action. Cloudflare D1 entitlement and request-count records require a separate backend cleanup review as part of full account deletion; do not assume they are currently erased by the in-app Firebase deletion flow.

Account deletion: You can submit a deletion request by email even if you have uninstalled NutriTrack. You do not need to reinstall the app.

Children, health information and estimates

NutriTrack is a nutrition and fitness tracker, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical conditions. Calorie, nutrient, exercise expenditure and weight-change figures—including AI-generated estimates—are approximations, not medical advice or guarantees. Younger users' profiles should be managed by an adult or guardian. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical guidance.

Security and changes

NutriTrack uses Firebase Authentication for sign-in and HTTPS for supported cloud and AI communications. No online service can guarantee perfect security. The policy may be updated if app features or data practices change; the updated version will be posted here. If changes require additional consent, we will request it where applicable.
